Wind forces SpaceX to push Falcon 9 launch

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (FOX 13) - Upper-level winds forced SpaceX to push its Wednesday night launch of Falcon 9, carrying 60 of its own satellites. They will try again Thursday.

With the launch, SpaceX is getting into the internet business. The Starlink mission will launch and deploy the first 60 satellites in SpaceX’s network to deliver space-based high-speed internet service.

Eventually, the company plans to place thousands of the 500-pound satellites in orbit to provide coverage to users around the world, especially in rural and isolated areas.

The satellites are packed like pancakes atop a Falcon 9 rocket poised for launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The booster, making its third flight, will attempt to land on a drone ship out in the Atlantic.
