LARGO (FOX 13) - A woman passed away following a Wednesday morning crash on U.S. Highway 19
Largo police shut down the southbound lanes of U.S. 19 at East Bay Drive for about two hours.
Police received a call about a person down near that intersection around 3:15 a.m. Vehicle parts were found in the roadway and officers determined there was a vehicle crash.
The female was identified as Vilayphoen Sinnavong, 34. Officials said it appeared she was wearing a dark garbage bag as clothing and may have had mental health issues. The driver cooperated and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, according to officers. Sinnavong died at the scene.
SkyFOX aerials showed traffic backed up for a couple of miles by 6:15 a.m. with cars being diverted onto Frontage Road.
