TAMPA (FOX 13) - Bay Area counties are monitoring the progress of Hurricane Irma, and several have already announced school closures. Here is the current status of public schools:
HILLSBOROUGH: Planning to reopen Thursday
PINELLAS: Will reopen Monday Sept. 18.
POLK: Will reopen Tuesday Sept. 19.
CITRUS: Closed through Wednesday
HERNANDO: Closed through Tuesday
PASCO: Closed through Tuesday
MANATEE: Will reopen Monday Sept. 18.
SARASOTA: Will reopen Monday Sept. 18.
SUMTER: Closed through Monday
HARDEE: Closed until further notice.
HIGHLANDS: Closed through Monday
DESOTO: Closed through Monday
