Missing teen may be in Georgia after fleeing from Irma, deputies say
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Hillsborough County deputies are searching for a missing teenager.
Vernicia Pearson left her residence in the 8000 block of Alpine Avenue in Tampa the morning of September 8 and has not returned, they say. The 16-year-old contacted her mom to advise she was in Georgia because of Hurricane Irma, but it’s unknown if she is with someone and which Georgia city she could be in.
She is described as a black female, 5’4 tall, weighs 125 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Vernicia advised she would be home soon, according to the agency. Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information on where Vernicia could be, to call them at 813-247-8200.
