Collection of fine scale models assembled in Tampa Bay

It’s a small, small world.

The Suncoast Center for Fine Scale Modeling is only open to the public once a month. The craftsmen here have assembled one of the most amazing collections of fine-scale models you will see anywhere – and it’s right in Odessa.

One of the most iconic creations is the Sundance Central Railroad, built in January 2004. The goal was to create a more detailed large-scale traveling layout, according to the center. The railroad consists of forty modules for a layout size of 45 feet by 45 feet, with details as small as a storm drains, smoke from the mini locomotive’s chimney, and the wooden building along the railroad’s weathered path.

The next time it is open is on Saturday, November 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
