Cool off under the hot Florida sun at Adventure Island

TAMPA (FOX 13) - Sometimes, you just got to dive into something cool on a hot day.

Over in Adventure Island, it has been Tampa’s giant water park for a long time. It continues to grow and expand and evolve. Since summers in Florida last longer than for most of the country, the theme park said they plan to remain open through October 28.

They have been offering new rides, splash areas, and food and drink offerings. This year, they even debuted a new water slide with a 70-foot drop for all the thrill-seekers. However, there are options for everyone, including those who wish to "chill." There is the Lazy River and cabanas are available for rent.

Let's not forget the food and drinks. Adventure Island has enough to satisfy cravings, including tacos, nachos, funnel fries, beer and daiquiris. 

Charley took a dip on Thursday, a hot summer day. Like FOX 13’s anchor Laura Moody says, “Sometimes, you just got to submerge.”
