‘Reopening community’ event aims to bring families, businesses together after a year apart
TAMPA, Fla. - A Tampa non-profit is bringing voter registration, vaccines, and a sense of community all to one place this weekend.
Faithworks Empowerment Initiative is hosting an event called "Reopening Community" this Saturday.
It strives to bring area families and business owners together after over a year of staying apart for health and safety reasons.
"What we do is we do workshops in the community, for the children and the parents. Anger-management, self-esteem, employability, dress to be your best," explained Executive Director Linda Walker. "I truly believe that business-oriented people will benefit from this event on Saturday."
"Reopening Community" boasts a full list of speakers including State Representative Diane Hart, and Lauren Dungy, wife to former Buccaneers head coach Tony Dungy.
Organizers also have vendors, and entertainment planned for the entire family.
The free event is happening at Grace Family Church in Temple Terrace Saturday, October 23rd, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
