'Shipwreck! Treasures of the Deep'

ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - Charley spends the morning at the St. Petersburg Museum of History inside the new "Shipwreck! Treasures of the Deep" exhibit.

The museum has teamed up with Odyssey Marine Exploration for the exhibit, which features dozens of artifacts including gold and silver, replicas of the technology used in exploration and even some interactive games.

There are two key artifacts, both of which are on public display for the first time: The 95-lb SS Republic ship bell which has undergone 12 years of conservation, and a cannon weighing over 500 lbs recovered from an unidentified Xebex (the preferred vessel of the famous Barbary pirates).
