3 arrested 10 years after man shot, killed at Tampa apartment complex: HCSO

Three people were arrested 10 years after a man was shot and killed at a Tampa apartment complex, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said it was a murder investigation that had gone cold for a little more than a decade.

Investigators with HCSO's cold case unit said deputies found Damien Bowie, 23, dead after a shooting at the Avesto Del Rio Apartments on March 2, 2014.

Deputies have not released many details about the investigation, but said they were able to determine Javonte Dennard, 33, shot Bowie in the parking lot of the complex after attacking him. The suspect is currently serving prison time for unrelated charges, but he now faces second-degree murder and fabricating or use of false physical evidence charges.

Detectives also said Deandra Jenkins, 37, was arrested in the case for principal to second-degree murder. Brittney White, 36, is another suspect facing charges, including accessory to second-degree murder after the fact and fabricating or use of false physical evidence, HCSO said.

No other details about the cold case were released by deputies. This remains an ongoing investigation.
