3-year-old drowns in St. Pete pond

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - A missing three-year-old has passed away after being found in a St. Petersburg pond Sunday morning, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department. 

Investigators said Malik Brown was reported missing around 11:30 a.m. near the area of 1600 Alcazar Way.

Within 10 minutes, officers found him in a pond less than two blocks away.

The child was transported to a hospital, and was later pronounced dead.
