4 children injured in car accident
TAMPA (FOX 13) - 4 children were sent to Tampa General Hospital following a Sunday afternoon car accident.
Initially, a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol listed 9 people being involved in the accident, including 7 children with serious injures.
A revised report shows there were 11 people, 9 children and 2 adults, inside the Chevy Suburban.
The driver, adult passenger and the 5 other children had no injuries. The 4 children sent to the hospital had minor injures.
The driver, Keith Odell Carson, was cited for 3 counts of passengers under 18 not wearing seatbelts.
According to the Highway Patrol, Carson was driving East on I-4 in the outside lane when he lost control. The vehicle overturned, rotated and collided with a chain link fence.
After hitting the fence, a trailer towed by the vehicle also overturned.
