Delta to become anchor tenant of new Airside D at Tampa International Airport

A contract was approved Monday to make Delta Air Lines the anchor tenant of Airside D, according to Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano.

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Board of Directors approved that contract to give Delta six of the 16 gates and one of two lounge spaces in the new airside.

Airside D will be TPA’s first new airside in almost 20 years. The $1.5 billion project, set to open in 2028, will house international and domestic flights.

Lopano praised the long-standing partnership that TPA has with Delta.

Right now, Delta operates out of Airside E with six gates and a Delta Sky Club.

What's next:

The contract with Delta will last up to 20 years.

Later this year, Delta will add a new non-stop service from Tampa Bay to Austin.
