SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Kailyn Pollard, 29, stood before a Seminole County judge Saturday morning.
The judge granted her bond in the death of Pollard's 1-year-old daughter, Kit.
“Alright, Ms. Pollard,” the judge said, “I'm gonna set a bond in your case at the bond schedule of $20,000.”
Prosecutors asked the court to strap pollard with a GPS bracelet and keep her from having contact with anyone under age 15, but the judge turned them down.
“I'm not gonna impose the other conditions based upon the fact that you don't have any prior criminal record in the allegations in the police report,” the judge said.
The SCSO report paints a tragic picture, saying Pollard drove to work Friday morning with Kit in her car seat.
Usually she drops her off at daycare, but they say on Friday, she went straight to work. W
While Pollard was at work, her small daughter was in the backseat of her car, in the sweltering heat, for seven hours.
Deputies say it reached temperatures of 94 degrees outside of the car.
Then, they say Pollard drove to pick up dinner and stopped at a gas station where she finally noticed her lifeless daughter.
They say the little girl died of cardiac arrest.
Pollard is charged with negligent manslaughter and had to be taken from jail Saturday afternoon for a mental health evaluation.
This is the second incident of its kind to have occurred in the Orlando area on Friday, according to authorities. During a news conference, a spokesman with the Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed the death of a 4-year-old boy, who is said to have been left inside a locked car in a school parking lot.
