Boil water notice ends for Tampa neighborhood
TAMPA (FOX 13) - The city of Tampa has rescinded its precautionary boil water notice for the neighborhood affected by a large water main break last week.
Ongoing testing by the Tampa Water Department shows that it is no longer necessary to boil water in the vicinity of the Rome Avenue water main break. Laboratory results show the water is sanitary and safe for drinking and food preparation without boiling.
North Rome Avenue remains closed from West Hillsborough Avenue to West Burke Street. Barricades and signs are rerouting traffic in the area.
The repair work is finished. Roadway repairs are expected to be completed by Tuesday.
