'Box of chocolates' go home, pet adoption sale continues at shelter
TAMPA, Fla. - Each puppy in the box of chocolate lab puppies that came to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay now has a new home this Black Friday.
The puppies that were featured on Good Day Tampa Bay after they were brought to the shelter have been adopted to those chosen through applications. The shelter said they received more than 900 applications to adopt one of the puppies.
Though the puppies were adopted, the shelter is hoping that people will give forever homes to its other residents. There is a Black Friday sale on adoption fees for puppies, dogs, cats and kittens over four months old.
The shelter is offering 75 percent off adoptions for dogs rabbits and pocket pets, and $5 adoptions for cats.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday. They're also grilling out so anyone who goes to the shelter can also get lunch or a snack.
