Car crashes into home, killing one

LUTZ (FOX 13) - A man was killed early Thursday morning when his vehicle crashed into a home on Lutz Lake Fern Road, near Heritage Harbor Parkway and Sierra Pines Blvd.

Officials say Maxwell Holloway was driving westbound in a Dodge Charger when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, causing his vehicle to leave the road. The car struck a utility pole, and continued moving, striking several trees before colliding into the exterior of a home on Sandy Shores Dr.  The car finally came to a stop in the backyard, lying on its roof. 

Holloway died as a result of the accident.

The homeowners were not injured, and the home was not seriously damaged. 

Lutz Lake Fern Road is closed as a result of the incident as authorities remove the mangled vehicle from the scene.
