Costco opening 10 new stores in the US and 4 in Canada as expansion continues - See where

Costco is continuing its expansion plans with 10 new locations in the U.S. and four in Canada opening over the next two months with more planned locations in the works.

What we know:

The Costco new locations page shows five new locations that will be opening in the U.S. in October: 

• Lee's Summit, Missouri — October 2026
• The Colony, Texas — October 2026
• Amherst, New York — October 2026
• Lawrence, Kansa - October 2026
• Camarillo, California - October 2026

The new Amherst store, a suburb of Buffalo, is the first Costco location in the metro region and residents living in the region have been eagerly awaiting their first Costco. The closest Costco to Buffalo is 75 miles to the east in Rochester, New York.

In November, Costco will open five more new stores in the U.S.:

• S. Meridian, Idaho
• Vallejo, California
• Chandler, Arizona
• Newport News, Virginia
• Franklin, Wisconsin

And Canada, which currently has over 100 locations, will welcome four new stores in Alberta and Ontario: 

• NE Edmonton, Alberta
• Lloydminster, Alberta
• E Windsor, Ontario
• Wasaga Beach, Ontario

Costco plans to continue expanding  

During its May 28 earnings call, Costco reported a revision of its new store opening target to 26 new locations but still is targeting its long-term goal of opening 30+ new warehouses annually. 

What they're saying:

"Our real estate operations team continues to focus on increasing our pipeline of new warehouses both domestically and internationally. As we target 30+ net new openings per year in the coming years," said Costco President and Chief Executive Officer Ron Vachris during the earnings call.

By the numbers:

Costco has 928 locations worldwide with 82.9 million paid members.  The warehouse club offers two membership options, both with different benefits. The Executive Membership is $130 a year and the Gold State Membership is $65 a year.
