County worker burned in Dade City lawn mower crash

DADE CITY (FOX 13) - A crash involving a lawn mower sent a Pasco County Public Works employee to the hospital with severe burns this morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Linda Gundaker was driving a mower on Calle de Milagros near Julian Street in Dade City when an SUV veered off the road and clipped the mower.

The collision caused the mower to burst into flames.  Gundaker, 56, was flown to Tampa General Hospital's burn unit.

Troopers say they aren’t sure why the SUV left the roadway.  Charges are pending against the 70-year-old driver, Joel Caphart.
