Don CeSar to reopen after being damaged in back-to-back hurricanes
ST. PETE BEACH, Fla. - The iconic pink hotel on St. Pete Beach will reopen soon, according to the Don CeSar’s website and social media pages.
Last week, the Don CeSar, which celebrated its 97th anniversary on January 16, announced that it will reopen in late Q1, which is Jan. 1 – March 31.
Why did the Don CeSar close?
Timeline:
The famous hotel suffered damage during Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton last year.
The hotel posted an announcement on Facebook that it was closed on September 28, 2024. It made similar posts on Oct. 2 and 19, 2024.
The hotel said that not only has it repaired damage to the resort, but it used the time as an opportunity to upgrade many of its amenities.
Upon reopening, the hotel said it will offer reduced services and amenities as it completes renovations to the ground-level facilities.
In a social media post, the Don CeSar stated that during the initial reopening period through late Q2, the Maritana Restaurant will temporarily serve as a three-meal-a-day dining venue, while the Lobby Bar will operate as a coffee shop in the morning and a cocktail bar in the evening.
The spa, one of the pools, and the beach behind the hotel will also be open.
