More than 100 Duke Energy personnel left Sunday for Puerto Rico, where parts of the island are still without power after Hurricane Maria hit back in September.

The power company is sending the crews to support the effort to rebuild the power grid and restore electricity. Duke Energy said 47 employees are flying out of St. Pete-Clearwater airport Sunday morning.

The company has already shipped its bucket trucks, equipment and supplies to Puerto Rico.

The crews will be working alongside the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, FEMA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
