Elderly woman found after Silver Alert

GULFPORT (FOX 13) - Gulfport police say a missing elderly woman has been found.

Metha Lydia Franco, 88, suffers from dementia and last left a voicemail for her daughter Monday around 1 p.m. She said she was going to a doctor's appointment at an office located at 6133 Central Ave. S. and nurses said she never showed up there.

Franco had forgotten that the appointment was actually Tuesday, not Monday, police said.  They issued a Silver Alert and asked the public to be on the lookout for her.

Tuesday afternoon, troopers tracked her down in Hillsborough County.
