FHP: Truck crashed into historic Florida landmark in Yeehaw Junction

The Desert Inn suffered major damage after a truck hauling orange juice crashed into it early Sunday morning, troopers said.

The motel is a historic landmark in Yeehaw Junction, a small community north of Okeechobee.

The Inn dates back to the 1880's when it was a bar and brothel for cowboys and lumberjacks.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Troopers said charges against the driver are pending.
