Forecast: Cooler air moves in this week
TAMAP (FOX 13) - You may want to keep that jacket handy – winter is not quite done with Florida just yet. Temperatures in the Sunshine State have dropped noticeably and Tampa could even fall into the 40s later this week as a cold front passes.
Residents of Brooksville woke up to a brisk 32 this morning before the sun came out to heat things up. FOX 13 meteorologist Jim Weber says a high pressure system to the north is keeping those bright sunny skies overhead for now, but another line of storms will pass mid-week.
Central Florida will start to see more clouds Tuesday, with an increased chance of rain that night. Then, more widespread rain early Wednesday will give way to a breezy, cooler day.
“At the same time we enjoy a little bit of rain and cooler temperatures, up across the Northeast, they’ll be bracing yet again for another strong storm system,” Weber offered.
Tampa will see highs only in the 60s on Thursday and Friday, while the northern counties will be even cooler.
