Kitten and dog fosters needed in Pinellas County

Kittens and pups in Pinellas County need foster homes, and Pinellas County Animal Services says all it takes is "a big heart, but only a small amount of time."

The Pinellas County Animal Services says it receives 40 to 50 new kittens every week around this time of year and they need a temporary safe place to stay for two-to-four weeks to be socialized and get ready for adoption.

The shelter also needs temporary foster homes for dogs.

To foster, volunteers have to fill out applications online, take a brief orientation course, and then Pinellas County Animal Services will take care of the rest, including medical support, food, and other supplies.

There are two upcoming orientations:
Saturday, April 20 at 9:30 a.m.
Friday, May 10 at 10 a.m.

Both will be held at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo.
