Tampa police are investigating a shooting that happened at a bar early Sunday morning.

Police responded to SoHo Backyard at 610 S. Armenia Avenue around 2:30 a.m.

Detectives say the co-owner of the bar, 33-year-old Jeffrey Glen, shot 37-year-old Timothy Martin in the head during a fight, leaving him critically injured. Martin died late Monday night.

It remains unclear why the two men were fighting, but police say they knew each other.

Police say when the fight got physical, Glenn left to get a gun.  According to police, Martin charged at him, and then Glenn fired his weapon.

Martin was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition.

Detectives think the shooting could be an act of self-defense. At this point, no charges have been filed.
