Man removed from AA flight in Tampa, charged with battery
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Tampa International Airport officials confirmed a flight to Texas had to land in Tampa so a passenger could be taken into custody.
The American Airline flight was diverted to Tampa (TPA) on its way to Dallas (DFW) from Fort Lauderdale.
Officials say Colby Isaac Hilleary, 24, of Greenville, Texas, was taken into custody for questioning by airport police and federal authorities.
Hilleary was charged with battery by local authorities and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail. He was given a $500 bond.
The FBI says Hilleary will also be charged with interference with a flight crew.
After Hilleary was removed from the plane, it was allowed to take the remaining passengers on to their destination.
