Motherly moment bonds woman, organutan

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (FOX 13) - A moment only mothers can truly understand connected a woman and an orangutan at the Melbourne Zoo last weekend. And now, it’s warmed the hearts of many around the world.
It happened on Sunday when Elizabeth Hunt Burrett and her family went to the zoo to celebrate her daughter’s third birthday.
Burrett says while they were in the orangutan enclosure, her 13-week-old son became hungry, so she sought out a quiet spot where she could breastfeed away from the crowd.
And then something truly beautiful happened.
A mother orangutan in the enclosure walked over to investigate, and then immediately appeared to be transfixed by the sight of another mother feeding her young.
Burrett says one person happened to notice what was happening, and then it wasn’t long before the other guests flocked over to share in the moment.
“I felt like I was on exhibit lol,” Burrett teased on Facebook alongside her photo. “I'm very happy to report that there was not one nasty comment made about me feeding in public,” she added.
