Pilot seriously injured in experimental plane crash in Brooksville
A pilot was seriously injured when an experimental plane crashed at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport.
It happened at 10:37 a.m. Monday.
The plane crashed in a wooded area of the airport and when Hernando County firefighters responded, they found the 63-year-old pilot standing near the burning wreckage.
The pilot was flown to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.
The pilot's name has not yet been released. There's no word yet on what caused the crash.
The fire was extinguished quickly by firefighters.
