Police search for suspect in four Tampa burglaries
TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa police are trying to find a suspect they say broke into four different businesses since December and stole money.
The suspect was caught on camera during several of the burglaries, all of which occurred in the late night to early morning hours.
The most recent burglary happened at Galaxy Fireworks on MLK Boulevard in Tampa on March 31 just before Midnight. In the video, the suspect is seen wearing a dark sweatshirt, a hat, and blue checkered shorts.
Police say the suspect also broke into Metropolitan Ministries on N. Florida Ave. just before 2 a.m. on March 31. In that burglary, the suspect was seen on video throwing a brick through the glass front door. The suspect stole the register, but there was no money in it at the time, Metropolitan Ministries said.
Another burglary happened on March 20 just before 6 a.m. at Cappy's Pizza on N. Florida Ave. Police believe this is the same suspect who was also seen on video breaking into Ella's Folk Cafe on Nebraska Ave. wearing an Air Jordan jacket back in December.
Police are asking anyone with information about who the suspect is to come forward. Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers of Tampa Bay to be eligible for a reward at 1-800-873-TIPS.
