Report: Construction workers are least likely to have health insurance
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Construction workers are among the occupations with the highest number of workers without health insurance, according to a new study.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that insurance coverage was lacking among those in the construction sector. With roofers leading the way, with slightly over 50 percent of their employees without insurance.
According to Zippia, Out of the top 20 professions with the highest level of uninsured workers, constructions industries had 11 on that list, including dry wall installers, cement mason and repair workers. The company, which assists in finding career options for people, compiled data from the most U.S. Census Bureau for people between the ages of 25 and 64 and those who had full-time jobs.
They found construction-related jobs were also among the most dangerous in the country, and responsible for more than 900 fatal work injuries in 2016.
