ST. PETERSBURG (FOX 13) - An overnight fire at a St. Petersburg home left several people displaced Sunday morning.
According to Pinellas County Fire Rescue, the blaze was reported around 1 a.m. at a multi-unit house in the 300 block of 7th Street South.
Firefighters said heavy flames were coming from the side of the building when they arrived. Most of the road was blocked off as crews worked to put out the flames.
According to St. Pete firefighters on scene, the fire appeared to start on the porch of one of the units and spread into the homes.
All of the residents got out safely. The cause of the fire still under investigation.
While the structure appeared to be sound, firefighters remained on scene for several hours after the fire was put out to keep an eye out for any possible hot spots.
