San Francisco police officer's wife missing after Las Vegas country concert

The wife of a San Francisco police officer is missing after the outdoor country music festival in Las Vegas, and her husband spent Monday going from hospital to hospital to find her.

Vinnie Etcheber has not been able to find his wife, Stacee, since gunfire erupted Sunday night outside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, according to her brother-in-law, Al Etcheber.

She and her husband, along with another police officer and firefighter, had attended the Route 91 Harvest Festival to hear Jason Aldean sing.

In the chaos of the gunfire, during which gunman Stephen Paddock killed 58 people and injured more than 500, Vinnie Etcheber started to care for wounded victims, Al Etcheber told KTVU.

He told his wife, Stacee, a hairdresser in Novato and mother of two, to run. And that's the last  he saw of his wife, Al Etcheber said. She had left her cell phone in their hotel room, and had given her ID to her husband.

Al Etcheber hopped in the car on Monday with other police officers to drive to Vegas to help his brother search for his sister-in-law. He said he didn't want to fly so he could be in contact with his brother at all times.

KTVU's Lisa Fernandez contributed to this report.
