Search for felon leads to discovery of man's body
A murder investigation is underway Wednesday morning after deputies stumbled across a man’s body in a wooded area Tuesday night.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said they were out searching for a wanted felon in the 4700 block of 15th Street East around 11 p.m., when instead, they found the dead man’s body on the ground.
Investigators said the man had suffered “upper body trauma.”
The man’s identity has not yet been released.
