Three days after a 16-year-old boy was shot at his home, dozens of police officers walked the neighborhood looking for information.

At the corner of 12th Ave. South and 26th St. East, Asst. Chief Jim Previtera passed out hundreds of fliers to the officers moments before they went door to door on foot to talk with residents.

On the flier is a picture of Lenny Acostas, and ways to get in touch with investigators to receive a $3,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest of his killer.

"We've been getting a lot of good tips, so that's what brought us back here today," Chief Anthony Holloway said.

"We believe that there are people out here that have seen or heard something that will help us solve this case," Asst. Chief Jim Previtera said.

Police received a call Tuesday night at 7:47 p.m. about shots fired.  When officers arrived, they found nothing, but minutes later another call came in of a gun shot victim at All Children's Hospital.

Police said Tuesday, Acostas' friends drove him to the hospital, but he died before they arrived.

As the investigation unfolded, investigators determined Acostas was shot either inside or outside his home.

Because of conflicting statements from family members and the group that rush him to the hospital, investigators couldn't say for sure.
