One man is dead and another has been arrested following a shooting Saturday morning, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

It happened around 7:30 a.m. at 4052 34th Ave. S. in St. Petersburg.

Police say James White shot and killed Marcus Nilsen following an altercation at White’s home. White was taken into custody Saturday morning and was later arrested in connection with the shooting death.

One month after the shooting, State Attorney Bruce Bartlett said the "facts and circumstances revealed do not warrant prosecution" of James White. The charges against him were dropped.
