Suspect flees Tampa store wearing stolen bracelet, deputies say

As the suspect was trying on a bracelet, it appeared as though he wanted to purchase a bracelet, but, instead, he ran off with it, deputies said.

Now, Hillsborough County deputies are searching for him. On October 20, they said the unknown man entered the Five Star Jewelry store in University Square Mall, located at 2200 East Fowler Avenue.

According to deputies, the suspect asked to try on a 10K solid gold bracelet. In surveillance video, as the suspect stood in front of the counter, the female employee secured the bracelet. It then appeared as though he inspects the security lock on the bracelet before running out of the store. The employee is seen jumping over the glass counter and chasing after him, but the suspect managed to get away through the southeast mall exit.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity or whereabouts are asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 9813) 247-8200. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-8477 or online at www.crimstopperstb.com.
