Tampa police searching for suspect who attempted to rob 2 pharmacies

TAMPA (FOX 13) - Police are searching for an unknown man who is suspected of trying to rob two pharmacies in Tampa.

In both cases, he left the store empty-handed, according to the Tampa Police Department. He also covered his face using a white cloth. The first robbery occurred on April 19 at The Drug Shoppe, located on Armenia Avenue, detectives say. 

The suspect is seen in surveillance video approaching the counter in dark-colored clothing and passing the clerk a hand-written note demanding Oxycontin. The suspect pulled up his dark-colored jacket to reveal what appeared to be a black pistol, but the clerk refused to hand over any medication.

Tampa police believe he is also involved in a second robbery on April 21 at the CVS located at 625 West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The suspect is seen in surveillance wearing a gray and white striped hoodie, and a flannel shirt with gray and green colored cargo shorts. He is also wearing a pair of low cut black and white shoes. 

When he entered the CVS, police say he showed the clerk a possible firearm and demanded Hydrocodone pills. The employee also refused to give him any prescriptions.
