Temple Terrace man, dog escape house fire

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. (FOX 13) - A Temple Terrace man and his dog escaped a house fire early Friday morning.

The man told fire crews he heard an explosion, which woke him up. He was able to get out safely, officials said. Firefighters contained the fire to two rooms inside the home.

Fire officials said the home had extensive damage following the fire. 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
