Toddler critically injured after truck backs over stroller
GIBSONTON, Fla. - A two-year-old sitting in a stroller was seriously injured after a truck backed over the stroller Sunday afternoon.
Hillsborough County deputies say Brandon Concepcion and the little boy's grandfather, Randy Lear, were leaving the home on Flume Terrace in Sandy's Mobile Home Park when Concepcion backed over the stroller.
Unaware he had backed over the stroller, deputies said he began to pull forward when a neighbor who saw the crash ran to the truck and began banging on the window to stop it.
The little boy, identified as two-year-old Zachary Ustaszewski, suffered severe head trauma and was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
Deputies are investigating the incident and haven't said whether any charges would be filed.
