Woman found dead in home of man who was acquitted of 2013 murder

Officials have not released the name of a woman whose body was found in her Clara Drive home in Brandon.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has been tight-lipped about what happened inside the house, but neighbors said they knew something wasn't right.

"I look out the window and I saw a forensic science small vehicle and a couple sheriff's vehicles," said neighbor Anthony Thiebaut. "It's a little unsettling."

Soon after, the entire street was covered with investigators.

HCSO officials said they were called to the house just before 10:30 a.m. Monday to help a woman who was unresponsive, but it quickly turned into a death investigation.

Detectives say the woman had upper body trauma. So far, they say no one is in custody.

Neighbors says the man who lives in the house keeps to himself.

"I've only seen him a couple of times going from his house to his car and that's it.  Never talked to him, never knew anybody else lived there," Thiebaut said.

Back in 2013, a 32-year-old man was murdered inside the same house.

Ralph Wald was charged and acquitted of murdering his wife's lover after catching them together in the living room.

According to property records, Wald still owns the home but it's unclear if the couple is involved in this investigation.

Investigators were on scene for most of the day Monday. Forensics teams combed the inside and an SUV parked out front for evidence.

Thiebaut and other neighbors hope to get some answers about what happened and the woman's identity.
