In the year since the January 6 insurrection, elections officials in Tampa Bay spent time answering questions from residents and correcting any misleading or wrong information about what happens at the polls.

Gov. Ron DeSantis took aim at President Biden's vaccine mandate, calling for a special legislative session to ban any such requirements in Florida by "strengthening" state laws: "We need to take action to protect Florida jobs," DeSantis said. "Your right to earn a living should not be contingent upon COVID shots."

Asked about the need for an election audit here in Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis replied, “So, that has happened. It passed with flying colors in terms of how that's going.”
