In what was described as the "final opportunity" to reduce Cameron Herrin's sentence, a Hillsborough County judge declined to approve the motion.
Hillsborough State Attorney Susan Lopez says convicted street racer Cameron Herrin should not have his 24-year sentence reduced. He pleaded guilty last year to the 2018 deadly crash on Bayshore Boulevard that killed a mother and her baby.
Cameron Herrin's attorney filed a motion to reduce his 24-year prison time and noted a voicemail that now-suspended State Attorney Andrew Warren left after the sentence was handed down in April. "I was surprised and even disappointed by the sentence. I thought it was excessively harsh."
