When a South Florida marine patrol officer came across a struggling young dolphin trapped in a fishing net, he quickly grabbed his knife and started cutting the net off to free the panicked animal.

Passing an urn made of Himalayan Sea salt one to the next, staff from the Clearwater Marine Aquarium said their final goodbyes as the cremated remains of Winter the dolphin were released into the Gulf of Mexico Thursday morning. 

The Wounded Warrior Project put on an event in the Florida Keys where a group of wounded military veterans had the chance to swim with bottlenose dolphins as part of an initiative to help with their mental health.
