Bicyclist dies following Valrico accident, troopers say
VALRICO, Fla. - Florida Highway Patrol is investigated a crash that killed a bicyclist Tuesday night.
The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on State Road 60 near St. Cloud
Avenue. FHP said a 36-year-old driver of a 2018 Ford truck was heading east on State Road 60 near St. Cloud Avenue.
Troopers said he began traveling through the intersection under a green light when a bicyclist started traveling south in the intersection – and not in a crosswalk.
The bicyclist, a 57-year-old male from Valrico, was taken to Brandon Regional Hospital where he passed away. His identity has not been released.
Charges have not been filed. All lanes have since reopened.
