Tampa’s annual fireworks and Independence Day celebration Boom by the Bay will return to Julian B. Lane Park on Saturday, July 1.

The event began in 2019 and after being canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, it returned last year much to the delight of thousands of residents.

This year’s event includes:

  • Pickleball Tournament
  • Apple pie bake-off
  • Free concert
  • Family Zone with face painting, bounce houses, sack races, corn hole, etc.
  • Food trucks
  • Fireworks

"While fireworks will grace the sky, Boom by the Bay is about so much more than that," said Mayor Jane Castor. "It's a chance for our community to gather, connect and appreciate the beauty of our city and the spirit of togetherness. This will be a highlight of the summer."

Shaun Drinkard, Interim President of the Tampa Downtown Partnership added, "We’re looking forward to an all-day, family-friendly party on July 1st. Whether it’s with the classic all-American favorite apple pie or the new all-American obsession of pickleball, you’ll find activities for everyone."

Boom by the Bay begins at 4 p.m. on Jul 1 with fireworks set to light up the sky at dusk.
