Caught on camera: Deputy avoids sliding SUV in snowstorm

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (FOX 13) - A Wisconsin deputy was assisting a motorist when an out-of-control vehicle approached him.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin released dashcam video of the deputy avoiding the sliding SUV. Deputy Jason Fabry was assisting another driver whose vehicle slid into a ditch during a snowstorm. 

The camera captured an SUV sliding across the roadway behind Fabry. He got out of the way and no one was injured. 

The sheriff’s office posted the video on Facebook as are reminder for drivers to slow down. 

"This spinout could have been deadly for Deputy Fabry, or for an oncoming vehicle," the agency wrote on the post. "This video serves as a great example of people driving too fast for conditions and putting the life of a deputy at great risk."
