Clearwater Beach named number 1 on travelers' list
CLEARWATER, Fla. - Clearwater Beach has been ranked number one on a recent list of travelers' favorites released by TripAdvisor.com, which doesn't come to the surprise of those who live here.
Travelers love the white sandy beaches and the calm shallow waters near the lively Pier 60. One reviewer even said it should be on the "Wonders of the World" list because it's "absolutely breathtaking."
But Clearwater wasn't the only Bay Area beach to make the top 10. Siesta Beach on Siesta Key and its amazing sunsets landed a third place spot on the list, along with Saint Pete Beach and its adventures, including stand up paddleboarding and windsurfing.
Florida was clearly a favorite for reviewers on the site, snagging 6 of the top 10 spots. Panama City Beach, St. Augustine Beach, and Pensacola Beach also made the list.
Trip Advisor says the U.S. Travelers’ Choice award-winning beaches were determined based on the quantity and quality of traveler reviews and ratings for beaches on TripAdvisor gathered over a 12-month period.
