A second investigation into the actions of the principal at a Tampa middle school has ended and, once again, the principal has been cleared of wrongdoing.

Coleman Middle School Principal Michael Hoskins was under investigation - for the second time - after a student reported a physical altercation involving Hoskins.

The State Attorney's Office said Wednesday no charges would be filed against Hoskins.

The Tampa Police Department was investigating Hoskins after a 13-year-old called 911 on March 27.

“He grabbed my neck, and he like grabbed my waist and everything, and then he threw me in the bush,” the student told the dispatcher.

The State Attorney's Office says it has reviewed the allegation and TPD's investigation and finds there "is no legal basis to file charges against the principal."

"We worked diligently to ensure that this process was fair for both the student and the principal. We are reminded in difficult situations like this, people may disagree about what took place and the propriety of either side's actions, but it is our responsibility to determine if criminal charges are appropriate," the office said in a statement.

In January, Hoskins and his wife, Kimberly were cleared of child abuse allegations dating back to November 14, 2017.

They were accused of hitting, shoving, and threatening a teenage relative because she sent a text to a coach. But the State Attorney's Office said the child made the whole thing up.

Hillsborough County Schools released a statement thanking TPD and the State Attorney's Office for "conducting a thorough investigation."

The county says Hoskins will return to school Monday, April 9.
