Suspected shooter takes off after killing woman in Tampa: Police
TAMPA, Fla. - A woman is dead, and a suspect is on the run following a shooting in Tampa on Tuesday morning.
Tampa police were called to a home on the 1700 block of W. St. Joseph St. shortly before 5:45 a.m. after reports of gunfire coming from the residence.
Officers said they found a woman in her mid-30s suffering from a gunshot wound and began life-saving measures.
She was taken to an area hospital where she died.
Tampa police are investigating a deadly shooting at a home on St. Joseph Street.
The suspect was not at the scene when officers arrived, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Police said evidence suggests that the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Investigators are working to figure out what led up to the shooting and trying to identify the suspect.
