Erika: Pasco County information
NEW PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) - Pasco County Emergency Management is not issuing any evacuation orders, but is asking residents to be prepared for flooding.
Officials said low-lying areas, mobile homes and areas along the coast will be the most susceptible to flooding during Tropical Storm Erika.
"We have a lot of mobile home communities in the Zephyrhills area and even in Land O' Lakes, so we urge those people to watch the weather," said Doug Tobin with Pasco County Emergency Management. "Be prepared if you do need to go to a shelter or have another place to go, just in case the tropical storm winds come our way," said Tobin.
Sandbags are available at the following locations:
- West Pasco Government Center, 7536 State Street, New Port Richey (Self-serve)
- Fire Station #17, 2951 Seven Springs Blvd., New Port Richey (Self-serve)
- J.W. Mitchell Park, 4025 Little Rd., New Port Richey (Self-serve)
- Fire Station #10, 7918 Rhodes Rd., Hudson (Self-serve)
- Veterans Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Rd., Hudson (Self-serve)
- C- Barn on 30906 Warder Rd., San Antonio (Self-serve)
- Fire Station #1, 6907 Dairy Rd., Zephyrhills (Self-serve)
- 6240 Pine Hill Rd., New Port Richey. Limit 10 bags and must be a City of New Port Richey resident.
- Land O'Lakes Community Center, U.S. 41 & School Road (Self-serve)
- Wesley Chapel Sports Complex, Overpass Road & Boyette Road (Self-serve)
They say citizens must bring their own shovel, and that all locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
